Eagles Nest 18.1.17

By | 19th January 2017

Spent the day at the fence at  RAF Lakenheath in Suffolk to capture the 48th FW(fighter wing), show of force in action.
Arrived at 0930hrs, and within 30minites the show began with the arrival of 8 F-15c Eagles of the 493rd FS (Fighter Sqd) doing their run and brake before landing. Whilst that was going on I could hear the howl of the engines starting up on the F-15E model, Strike Eagles of the 492nd and the 494th FS (Fighter Sqd) starting up for the days flying.
In the morning I was situated at the forest entrance located on the A1065, where at first I was the only person there, by about 10-15 there were a few other photographers pitching up  with their cameras waiting for the action to begin.
In the afternoon, by then the sun was in and out for most of the afternoon, so I plumped for the Aircraft viewing area  to get some different angle on things.  You are against the light when you are photographing which is a challenge, but if you get it right you can get some rewarding images from that area.
