RIAT 17 Pt1 Thunderbirds Are Go

By | 20th July 2017

It’s been nearly a week since the 2017 Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT17) took place at RAF Fairford, and I’ve only managed to down load a few images.
So I have decided to post a series of blogs  over the coming weeks to highlight what I thought were the best things at the show.
Pt.-1 Is the turn of the USAF Demonstration Team The Thunderbirds, This consisted of 6 F-16 C/D Lockheed Martin  Fighting Falcons  all painted up in the all American Red, White and Blue. The team arrived  at RAF Fairford on the evening of Friday 7th July, a week before the show to do a bit of sight seeing,  and tour a number of  American Airfields  with flypasts,  which attracted a good number of visitors to the bases. As this year marks the 70th Anniversary of the United States Air Force (USAF),  it was a fitting tribute that it was this years main theme at RIAT 17,the last time the team came to RAF Fairford was 10 years ago, when it was there 60th Anniversary.
The Team also came away with The RIAT CEO Award for outstanding contribution to the show which was presented By RAFCTE Chief Executive Andy Armstrong.
